Program Information

What is Doctors of Tomorrow?
The Doctors Of Tomorrow (DOT) program is a county-wide educational program run by the Suffolk Academy of Medicine. We provide valuable information and experiences to high school students on what it takes to become a doctor and a leader in the community, as well as mentorship and guidance from medical students and physicians.
Opportunities & Initiatives

Shadow A Doctor
We match our students with a local physician to spend a "Day With A Doctor" where they will shadow a physician to get a glimpse of a doctor's day

Fundraising
We provide opportunities for our students to raise money. This year, we will be focusing on our partnership with Long Island Cares to raise money to address food insecurity in our community
Community Service
We provide opportunities for our students to serve their community by volunteering at our events in a variety of ways that will support and give back to those around them

Mentorship
Students will have the opportunity to connect with local medical students and ask them questions through our Q&A sessions and informative presentations

Networking
Our students have many opportunities to meet physicians and medical students in our community through shadowing or volunteering at our events, where they can make lasting connections
